The History Of Cloisonne -
Cloisonne, which means "to compartmentalize", is an ancient art form introduced to China by western travelers in the 14th century.
The process includes:
- Highly trained artisans bend wire strips by hand to create the patterns that make up the design, which is then soldered onto a copper form.
- The design is inlaid with enamels to achieve the desired colors and fired at very high temperatures.
- the ornaments are then cooled, polished, and plated in 24K gold.
